Geography: Map of Mexico and Guatemela
Geography is the study of the world we live in, what there is, and why there is. So I made a map of Mexico and Guatemala because these were the first places Cameron Townsend shared the Gospel.
So what's the next step?
Map-making is also known as Cartography. Cartography is important in Geography so that we can know how other places look like. Mr. Townsend originally started in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and he slowly progressed towards Mexico sharing the Good news all the way.
But what is the Good news?
The Good news is a.k.a. the Gospel which explains about Jesus and his mission here on earth. In fact, we really need the Good news so much especially in this time of pandemic because the world is so full of bad news hanging in the air like pollution. So the Good news can be better summarized into the four truths. And the first truth is...
1. God loves you and desires to have a relationship with you
The Scriptures (a.k.a. the Bible) proves this to us.
1 John 4:8-9 (NIV)
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is
love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His
one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent
his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
But then God is holy
1 Peter 1:15 (NIV)
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.
2. Humans have a problem
And that is sin. We sin when we do something wrong. And sin also opposes God.
Isaiah 53:6 (NIV)
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each one of us has turned
to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
So therefore, we deserve death.
Romans 6:23 (NIV)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
4. God sent Jesus to die for our sins
That's right! God loves us so much that he didn't want to separate from us forever due our sin. So he sent someone pure and holy, his son Jesus! When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the price of sin instead of us. His sacrifice was our salvation.
John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
But that's not it! Jesus rose from the dead and told his disciples to share this, the Good news all over the world, as I am doing right now to you.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
So do you want to accept this free gift of salvation? In doing so, you will have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior by confessing your sins, follow him, and also share the Good news to others. If you do, pray this prayer with me!
"Dear God,
I thank you for dying on the cross for me. I am sorry for all the sins I have done. Please help me love like you and follow you.
In Jesus Name,
Amen!"
Congratulations! Mark this day in your calendar because this is your special birthdate as a child of God! May God bless you as you grow in him! The angels in Heaven are singing for joy because one lost child was found!
